Overview

This private tour offers the best wildlife encounters, nature, and cultural experiences across Rwanda and Uganda. You’ll have the opportunity to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, track golden monkeys, and enjoy an array of other unique wildlife encounters, including chimpanzees.

Upon arrival in Kigali, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our staff at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Rest and recover from your journey in preparation for the days ahead. If you arrive early, there’s an option to explore Kigali, including visits to the Presidential Museum and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site.

After breakfast, you’ll drive northeast to Musanze, located near Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you can either relax or choose to explore the area through optional excursions, such as canoe trekking or visiting the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village to experience traditional Rwandan culture.

In the morning, you’ll embark on a golden monkey tracking experience in Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll observe these rare primates in their natural habitat. Afterward, you’ll cross the border into Uganda and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famous for its mountain gorillas.

A thrilling day awaits as you trek through the misty mountains of Bwindi to meet the magnificent mountain gorillas. Spend an hour with these gentle giants, observing their behaviors and taking photos. Afterward, there’s an optional visit to the Batwa community to learn about their culture and way of life.

You’ll journey through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll have a chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions. After a game drive in Ishasha, you’ll proceed to the Mweya Peninsular for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its wildlife.

Start your day with a game drive in the Kasenyi plains, home to cape buffalo, elephants, and big cats like lions and leopards. After lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll witness hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and diverse bird species.

The day begins with an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kyambura Gorge. You’ll also see other primates and birds in the lush forest. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to Hoima, where you’ll settle for the night.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before departing for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, renowned for its spectacular Murchison Falls and wildlife. The park is home to a variety of species including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous antelope species.

Arrive at the park, check in, and later in the afternoon, set out for a thrilling game drive where you’ll witness the diverse wildlife, including a high concentration of hippos and crocodiles along the Nile River. Optional: You can opt for a night game drive for a chance to encounter nocturnal wildlife at an additional cost of $40.

Overnight: Tilenga Safari Lodge, Murchison Falls NP

After an early breakfast, head out for a game drive in the rolling plains of Murchison Falls National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for elusive predators such as lions and leopards as well as herds of elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting some of the park’s rich birdlife.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat safari to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the awe-inspiring power of the falls and spot wildlife along the riverbanks, including hippos, crocodiles, and various water birds.

Overnight: Tilenga Safari Lodge, Murchison Falls NP

After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison Falls for a stunning view of the world’s most powerful waterfall as it squeezes through a narrow gorge. Afterward, embark on a transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting on-foot rhino tracking experience.

After tracking the rhinos, have lunch and continue your journey to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. You’ll arrive in time for an evening flight (recommended departure time is 6:00 PM or later).
