Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy the comfort of your accommodation as you prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Genocide Museum and enjoy a comprehensive city tour of Kigali. After lunch, embark on a scenic drive northwest through Rwanda’s beautiful terraced hillsides to Ruhengeri, the base for gorilla trekking at Parc National des Volcans. Ruhengeri, a small city with about 70,000 people, offers remarkable views of the surrounding volcanoes and a welcoming atmosphere.

After an early breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for golden monkey trekking. This relatively easy trek takes you through lush forests, offering an opportunity to observe these playful primates in their natural habitat. Return to your lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon visiting the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village to experience Rwandan culture.

Following breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for your first day of gorilla trekking. After a briefing by your trackers, begin your trek through the cultivated foothills of the Virunga’s, where you will be immersed in the rainforest, alive with bird calls and the sounds of golden monkeys. Experienced trackers will bring you up close to a gorilla family, where you will spend an hour observing their daily life. Return to your lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, visit the Twin Lakes Ruhondo and Bulera.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departing from the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes. Drive south past banana plantations on a scenic route back to Kigali, where you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
